The Brevard Conference on Music Entrepreneurship (BCOME) explores exciting career tracks beyond the traditional job pathways. Workshops, lectures and instruction will help you envision and forge a career as a music entrepreneur. The three-day conference offers unique tracks specifically tailored for performers, college faculty and music industry professionals.
This year's keynote speakers will be Bill Ivey, the Director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy at Vanderbilt University and former Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts under President Clinton, and Arlene Shrut, Founder and Artistic Director of New Triad for Collaborative Arts.
New for 2007 are our one day seminars on music entrepreneurship being held at different locations around the country. In addition to our main Brevard conference on July 27 - 29, 2007, we will be holding these one day high speed injections of entrepreneurship at the following locations:
- California Institute of the Arts, October 6, 2007, Valencia, California
- University of South Carolina, November 3, 2007, Columbia, South Carolina
- Northwestern University, February 2, 2008, Evanston, Illinois
The Brevard Music Center, a summer institute and festival located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, provides the perfect backdrop for the weekend conference. Participants will attend concerts featuring world-renowned performers and are granted access to the stunning 140-acre campus.
What do you want to BCOME? Join us for this thought provoking conference and learn how to envision and establish your own career while earning a living doing what you love - music.
